These quests are a way to exchange Manastones that are not really useful for your class for a chance at some that are. Each zone will have a Manastone Remover who offers two quests that are repeatable up to 200 times. The table, below, shows what three types of stones each quest wants. The value of the stones will vary by tier. There is a small chance that you may get a Superior quality Manastone as a reward.
